The real bench path

From reference to final polish, one goldsmith stays accountable.

Each project's scope, timing, and materials are discussed around the actual piece. The path stays visible, but it is never forced into a package that does not fit.

A first-person bench view of the making process.

Reference → CAD → Print → Cast → Finish

  1. 01

    Reference

Bring the photograph, drawing, old piece, measurements, or written idea. Yao starts with what the piece needs to become.

  2. 02

    CAD

Proportion, structure, fit, and the next production step are resolved before metal work begins. CAD-only work can end at an agreed handoff.

  3. 03

    Print

When the build calls for it, the approved production direction becomes a castable model prepared for the next bench stage.

  4. 04

    Cast

The model moves through lost-wax casting at the same bench responsible for the custom build.

  5. 05

    Finish

The cast is cleaned up, assembled or set when required, and brought through its final hand finish and polish.

Bring the part nobody else solved. Yao will review the reference and tell you what the real build needs.
