From reference to final polish, one goldsmith stays accountable.

You and Yao agree on the design, materials, price, and timing before work begins. These are the main steps for a cast piece; your order may need some or all of them.

Reference → CAD → Print → Cast → Finish

    Reference

    Bring the photograph, drawing, old piece, measurements, or written idea. Yao starts with what the piece needs to become.

  2. 02

    CAD

    Yao uses 3D design software to work out the shape, fit, and construction before making the piece. If you only need a design, you can order CAD files separately.

  3. 03

    Print

    For pieces made by casting, the approved 3D design is printed as a castable pattern.

  4. 04

    Cast

    Lost-wax casting turns the pattern into a metal piece. Yao handles the casting as well as the work that follows.

  5. 05

    Finish

    The cast is cleaned up, assembled or set when required, and brought through its final hand finish and polish.
